What Is Social Media ROI?

Social media ROI measures whether the time and money you spend on social media is generating revenue for your business.

Social media ROI (return on investment) is the measurement of whether your social media efforts are producing business results. For local businesses, this usually means: are Instagram posts leading to bookings, foot traffic, phone calls, or online orders?

Measuring social media ROI for a local business is tricky because the connection is often indirect. A customer might see your Instagram post on Monday, Google you on Wednesday, and walk in on Saturday. They will not tell you Instagram started it.

Practical ways to track it: ask new customers “how did you hear about us” (simple and effective), use a unique booking link in your Instagram bio so you can count clicks, and compare foot traffic or revenue during weeks you post versus weeks you do not.

Review posts have a built-in ROI argument. Each review is social proof that reduces a potential customer’s hesitation. The time spent posting a review (10 seconds with Prizz) is negligible compared to the trust it builds over weeks and months. See why your Google reviews belong on Instagram.
