What Is a Content Calendar?

A content calendar is a schedule that plans what you will post on social media, when, and on which platform.

A content calendar is a simple plan that maps out what you will post on social media for the coming week or month. It prevents the “what should I post today?” panic by deciding in advance what content goes out on which day.

For a local business posting 3-4 times per week on Instagram, a basic content calendar looks like: Monday is a product or food photo, Wednesday is a customer review post, Friday is a behind-the-scenes shot, Saturday is a tip or announcement. You repeat this rotation every week.

The value of a calendar is consistency. Businesses that plan their posts in advance actually publish them. Businesses that wait for inspiration miss days, then weeks, then give up. The calendar removes the decision from the moment and makes posting a habit.

Review posts are the easiest calendar slot to fill because the content already exists. Prizz generates them in seconds, so your Wednesday review post takes less effort than any other day. See our suggested schedule in how often a restaurant should post on Instagram.
